Science Slashdot.org - News for geeks - I don't read here much any more because it is invariably a huge time sink with huge amounts of information/links/and interesting story. It's a good filter for the news, only showing stuff that's techinical. Nature - any time the news makes a vague and paper thin reference to some study that might actually be really cool to know about, but the news only takes the most unimportant sound bite quote from (like: "A new study shows that bees may be able to understand English. Isn't that interesting Diane?" - "Wow, there sure sound like busy bees, can't wait to tell my honey. And now lets look at the weather with teen pop sensation Al Rouker") you'll find the abstracts here, with the real information.

Fun
Blue vs. Red - there's this game called Halo, and you can record the stuff that happens when you play. So some guys record game footage, then dub voices over, and edit all the stuff they recorded, and it's pretty funny. Notes: big files - long download, watch them in order, strong language. Oddly Enough - when a radio station tells some wacky news story, they get it from here (reuters).

Big fan. Boston University Public Radio. The archives are amazing, you can search of anything and hear their shows from years ago up to a couple minutes after they're done airing. |
